ASTM AM Certification
Overview
An ASTM AM certification is important because it provides a globally recognised, independent standard for the quality and
consistency of additively manufactured
(3D printed) parts, assuring customers
that the manufacturer adheres to rigorous quality control procedures and produces
parts that meet specific performance
requirements, which is especially
crucial in industries where safety and reliability are critical, thus enhancing market trust and opening up new business opportunities. ASTM AM Certification
courses comply to ASTM E2659-18 standard practice for certificate programmes.
Anchored in the National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2020, the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, and the national target to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, MARiiCas is more than just a rebate — it’s a movement toward cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive mobility solutions.

- AM Qualification & Certification
Objectives
ASTM is designed to:
The certificate pathways are designed to advance AM knowledge and skills progressively. ASTM AM Essentials for Professionals (Beginner Level) provides a solid foundational understanding of the process chain, from AM fundamentals to qualification and certification.
Then, participants can proceed with the ASTM Professional Certificate Course in AM (Intermediate Level) provided only after they have passed the ASTM AM Essentials for Professionals.
Finally, participants take role-based courses (Expert Level) that provide a deeper understanding of performing specific roles in AM, such as AM Safety Engineer, Design Engineer, and Quality Engineer.
Benefits
Increase Credibility
Certifications meeting ASTM 52942 and ASTM 52926 standards are required to become a certified additive manufacturing operator for a dedicated machine model and material.
Market Access
ISO/ASTM 52920, 52901, and 52904 standards may be mandatory to become a certified additive manufacturer for selling additively manufactured parts.
Quality Assurance
Rigorous testing and audits of the manufacturer’s production processes, materials, and quality control systems, ensuring consistent high-quality parts.
