Authorised Automotive Treatment Facility (AATF) Application
Overview
The Authorised Automotive Treatment Facility (AATF) is a critical initiative that supports the proper dismantling and treatment of end-of-life parts (ELPs) and end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) in line with environmental standards. Launched as a pilot project by the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) in collaboration with the Department of Environment (DOE) in March 2021, the programme aims to regulate the handling of automotive waste to promote reuse, repair, remanufacturing and recycling parts and components.
AATFs are facilities licensed under Section 11 & 18(1) of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and shall comply with MS 2697 standards to be officially licensed by the DOE.
