Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) Development Program
Overview
In collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), the EVCS Development Program offers financial assistance to Bumiputera automotive industry players to support the development of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Malaysia.
The program provides matching grants to cover up to 50% of the cost of installing EV charging infrastructure for AC, DC or (Battery Swapping Station (BSS)) for approved infrastructure under the Approval and Monitoring Committee (AMC).
MITI has officially issued a letter for the KWADAB Fund, enabling the rollout of the EVCS Matching Grant Programme.
This programme will support the installation and expansion of EVCS infrastructure, in line with Malaysia’s electrification and green mobility agenda under NAP 2020.
MARii will begin industry engagement and fund disbursement preparations, targeting strategic locations to enhance EV adoption and charging network accessibility.
Objectives
EVCS is designed to:
- Encourage and accelerate the rollout of EV charging infrastructure nationwide.
- Support national goals under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda.
- Strengthen the EV ecosystem to drive adoption and indirectly boost EV sales.
